تظاهرات دانشجویان ایرانی در هلند برای دسترسی به منابع علمی دانشگاه

سه سال پیش وزارت فرهنگ هلند طی دستوری از دانشگاههای کشور خواست كه دسترسی دانشجویان ایرانی به منابع علمی دانشگاه را محدود و کنترل نمایند. این عمل كه با مخالفت شدید دانشگاه های هلند روبرو گردید پس گرفته شد. ولی پس از مدتی دولت هلند طی مقررات جدیدی تحصیل دانشجویان ایرانی حتا با گذرنامه هلندی را در چندین رشته تحصیلی ممنوع کرد.

ظاهرا بهانه ی این ممنوعیت قطعنامه 1737 شورای امنیت سازمان ملل است که در آن آمده: هر گونه انتقال فن آوری و دانشی که به توسعه برنامه هسته ای ایران یاری برساند باید متوقف شود اما در عمل دامنه ای این ممنوعیت بسیار گسترده است و شامل کلیه امور علمی می شود و طرفه این که هیچکس هم پاسخگو نیست.

دانشجویان ایرانی بر علیه این تصمیم دولت هلند به دادگاه این کشور شکایت کرده اند و دادگاه قرار است بزودی به این شکایت آنان رسیدگی نماید . ازینرو دانشجویان ایرانی در هلند روز ۵ شنبه آینده برابر دهم دسامبر در مقابل دادگاه هلند در شهر لاهه برای دفاع از خواسته خود تظاهراتی ترتیب داده اند و از همه ایرانیان خواسته اند از این اقدام آنان حمایت نمایند .

دانشجویان ایرانی نباید وسیله ای برای اعتراض به سیاست های هسته ای ایران قرار گیرند.

Court Hearing in case of Iranian Students, 10 December 2009

Since July 2008, the Dutch Government has banned Iranian citizens, as well as Dutch citizens of Iranian descent, from parts of certain university graduate programs. In addition, five locations have been designated as forbidden for the latter group. This measure is presumably meant to avoid the spreading of ’proliferation sensitive information’. As you may have noticed, we have not accepted this extremely stigmatizing measure against Iranians, which, in effect, discriminates an entire group of people solely on the basis of their nationality. Securing any information can be perfectly achieved without such a discriminatory measure.

The Campaign of Iranian Students has taken legal actions against the Dutch government, and the case will soon appear before the court. Although the initial assessments are promising, we would like to ask for your help. Public support for this case, especially in the form of your presence during the court hearing, can significantly contribute to our cause. In addition, it will help us gain national and international media attention.

The court hearing is scheduled on Thursday 10th of December at 10:30 am at the Palace of Justice in The Hague. The Palace of Justice is within walking distance of The Hague Central Station. For address and directions please visit the website below:

Please, note that members of the public, who wish to attend the hearing, are required to be present at the location at least 30 minutes before the start of the session (at 10 am), and should be able to present a valid ID card.

Study on the societal effects of the sanction regulation

In our last newsletter we requested you to fill out a questionnaire about the societal effects of the ban, imposed by the Dutch government, against Iranian students and scholars. This questionnaire was sent for the purpose of a research conducted by Prof. Ashley Terlouw from the Radboud University Nijmegen (the Netherlands).
